Run Fad Run

Heard about the first ever Muslimah run in the world?

I survived to tell the story. It was fun to be part of a world's first. Right in the comfort of our little red dot.

WOW RUN was organised by the awesome people at Women of Wellness held 9th February 2014 at the Marina Barrage. Love this place. Few places in Singapore where you could stare endlessly into the sky, day or night.

Weeks leading up to the date of the run was filled with excitement and encouraging each other to prepare for the run. We were a group of seven.
Love this bunch. Amazing women. Blessed to be a part of them. #countyourblessingseveryday

Before we got drench in our own sweat

It was a great day to be out early although the waking up part was a huge struggle. It was a Sunday. You could tell im not a seasoned marathon runner.
Not even a runner at all. I didnt get that part why it had to be so early in the morning. Lol

Follow the pink line

Our flag off was about 8.30 am. Wish it had been much earlier though.
We were soaking up the heat of the morning sun. It was draining my energy. There wasnt much since I missed breakfast that morning. Counting on the calorie boost from the late dinner the night before. Plus, it was the first time i really sorta run in my life besides running after the bus, mrt etc or that aunty who dropped her wallet at Lot 1.

The route was simple. I like the fact that you kinda circle the same place twice instead of running into the distance and the only thing that you wanna see is the finishing line. Lol

See the pic above. Simple. Just follow the pink line. Paramedics should, however, be stationed at that uphill route at line D. It was there that i felt like i was gonna roll downhill if i didnt kept on pushing myself. Lol.

And we survived!!

The most memorable bit of the run was sprinting the last few hundred metres hand in hand with the one who inspired me to keep on going the whole time.

Love you Ibu Cha Lyn! xoxo

Thanks again for dropping by! xoxo
